THE CHALLENGE: Back in 2006, the publishing team at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO) wanted to create a new younger women's interest magazine that would rival the incredibly popular competitors, Real Simple and Domino. Everything was up for grabs: palette, typography, imagery style, content — this magazine could look like anything!
THE SOLUTION: Months of painstaking development with the MSLO design and editorial team produced Blueprint: Design Your Life. Led by the amazing Debra Bishop, the magazine included lots of innovative typography, bright colors, and modern details. Especially unique was an interior pull-out section called The Handbook that focused on a single topic and had it's own style. I worked on front of book, back of book, and Handbook sections from design concepts to photoshoot coordination to final production.
AWARDS: Members Choice, Magazine of the Year Award (Fall 2006) and Gold: Entire Issue & Front/Back of Book (Fall 2006) from The Society of Publication Designers
